Massage & masturbation

Hello Doctors,
I am a male from China. So please forgive my English.
I received a massage and masturbation about 10 weeks ago from a CSW. We did nothing except massage and masturbation. But, there was a small wound on my anus. The CSW's hands and massage oil touched the wound on my anus and my urethra. The massage oil had inpour into my urethra. From week 2 to now after the exposure, I have many symptoms, which include fever, headache, body rash, weight loss without reason (over 10%), night sweats, sore throat and so on. So, I did 3rd generation Elisa test at week 7 and week 9. They all showed negative. So please answer the following questions.
1. Can I get HIV if the CSW's hands had HIV and touched my wound and urethra?
2. Can I get HIV if the contaminated oil with HIV inpour into my urethra?
3. During the massage, can I get HIV if I have open cuts on my body?
4. Why so many symptoms appear on my body. Are they related to HIV infection?
5. Can I consider the test result of week 9 as conclusive?
6. I know the massage and masturbation may be considered as safe. But do they really safe if wound exists and the massage oil was contaminated with HIV?
7. Do I need further testing?

Thank you in advance and waiting for your response.

Welcome to the forum. Thanks for your question.  Your English is fine!

The important information in your question is your negative HIV test results.  They prove you did not catch HIV.  The exposures described were zero risk.  Some of your symptoms could occur with HIV, but also with many other minor medical conditions.  However, test results always overrule exposure history symptoms.  To your specific questions:

1-3,6) These are all zero risk events.  HIV is not transmitted sexually unless a bare penis (no condom) enters another person's vagina or rectum.

4) I do not know the cause of your symptoms.  Your test results prove they are not due to HIV.

5) Yes.  All existing HIV blood tests are conclusive by 9 weeks.  Perhaps you have read that 3 months is conclusive, but that's old news.  For more explanation, see the thread linked below:

7) No more testing is required.

I hope these comments have helped ease your fears. Best wishes--  HHH, MD

Those may be partial explanations, but such details are unimportant.  The fact is that nobody has ever been known to be infected by such exposures.  The biological reasons really don't matter.  It's not a risk and that's all there is to it.

Thatw ill end this thread. I won't have any further comments or advice.

Some experts say the HIV is unable to reproduce outside the host (the body), and mutual masturbation is totally safe therefore, even with cuts and infected fluids. Are they right? How long will HIV live if the infected fluids touch the air? I know the probability of infecting HIV is low for everyone. But for individuals, only two result: negative or positive. Still so scare!

It takes exposure to large amounts of HIV in order for transmission to occur.  It would be difficult to be exposed to sufficiently large amounts under these circumstances.

Even for unprotected vaginal sex, if a male is infected and deposits semen loaded with HIV into a woman's vagina, the woman becomes infected only once for every 1,000 exposures.  Nursing babies of infected mothers swallow several ounces of HIV-infected mild a day, yet after 6 months only 10-15% become infected.  That's how hard it is to transmit HIV!

Thanks for your response. In order to clarify my status, I will do a test at 3 months. I will also tell you the result of the test anyway. Hopefully, I really did not get HIV from the exposure. Additionally, could you please explain to me why HIV cannot be transmitted when infected fluids touch the wound or open cuts on penis or anus during the masturbation? Thank you.

Most if all tests in China are just as advanced as in Europe and North America; and psychiatric drugs have no effect on HIV test reliability.  Feel free to have another test if you like, but it really isn't necessary.

Thanks for quick responses, Doctor.
Because my symptoms are very classic for HIV infection. So I scare the result may change into positive when I test at 3months. Another reason is the test agentia used in China may be not advanced as the agentia in US. Additionally, I guess my body may be different from other people. This is because I eat psychiatric medications for a long time. Does it delay the antibody appear or extend the window period?

Thank you again.
