Still not a risk. You need to move on from this non risk.
Dear Chima7,
would alcohol have killed the hiv immediately, because I drank from the dirty right away? hope this made sense. there was no lag time between the drink being made and me consuming it. Thank you! sorry for being a pain.

You had no risk of HIV from the dirty glass nor the spit in your eye. Ingesting blood (particularly in the miniscule amount you're talking about) is NO risk. Saliva is not infectious and therefore spitting in your eye is NO risk. I've already told you in your previous posts the only 2 ways that an adult can get infected and neither of those include your 2 scenarios.
You had no risk. If you can't accept this you have to seek a therapist with whom to discuss your irrational HIV phobia.
Can,t seem to get this stuff out of my head:
1. I drank from a used cup that had ice at the bottom with blood in it and the lip of the cup was smudged with a brownish substance where someone has drank from the cup previously.
2. yesterday I was having a conversation with a stranger and they inadvertently spit in my eye!!!
Thank You!

Hello, as BeStrong_ already told you, HIV is only transmitted by unprotected vaginal or anal penetrative sex, sharing needles or mother to child, doctors and epidemiologists around the world overwhelmingly agree on that.
Drinking from a dirty cup is not considered a risky activity because there are no reports of people getting HIV by doing that.
HIV is very fragile outside the human body, like a shark out of water, any infection must happen inside the body.
Rest assured that, as told and explained by BeStrong, you weren't exposed to a risk.
Hope this helps.
Dear BeStrong: Thank you very much for your answer, however this was a very traumatic event for me ;looking into the bottom of a beverage I had completely consumed and seeing blood, and then noticing that the cup had been used previously because of obvious lip stains. Is HIV infection truly impossible in this situation? Might I have a more extensive answer that will allay my doubts and fears? following is my original question: I received a used dirty cup at a bar. Sadly I noticed it to late! At the bottom of the the cup was a red substance that could have been blood. Also, the rim of the cup had a brown stain on it from the lips of another person. I placed my lips on the dirty rim, and ingested the red substance at the bottom. Is there any risk of Hiv or Hepatitis infection.
Hi,
There is no risk of hiv transmission for this incident.
HIV can be transmitted via unprotected vaginal or/and anal penetration, sharing IV works in drugs and from mother to child
Take care
