Very Worried - Please help

I had sex (about 5 times) about 3 and a half weeks ago with a heterosexual man. He didn't ejaculate inside me and put a condom on about 10 mins before he would....(it takes him a long time)

He has had about 10 partners (only 2 in the last couple of years) before me and I've just found out that he usually only used a condom at the end. I'm so very worried, He thinks there is nothing to worry about but I can't sleep.

Several comments, then a suggestion about what to do.  Comments first:

1.  STDs and HIV can be transmitted without ejaculation. Thus it is in your (and, his) best interest to use condoms throughout sexual encounters, not just at the time of ejaculation.
2.  His risk is not higher than average.  the number of partners he has had (10) is about average for men North America and Western Europe and, as you point out, he does not have sex with other men or use drugs. thus the probability that he had HIV from his past experience is rather low. probably less than 1 in a 1000.
3.  Even if he were infected with HIV, your risk of getting HIV is low.  The risk, if he were infected is about 1 per 1000 exposures.

Comment.  Your risk, as you can see from above is very, very low.  That said, you have had unprotected sex.  It would be a reasonable idea for you (and him for that matter) to seek STD.HIV "screening", that is testing in the absence of symptoms because you have had sex with a new partner.  As a matter of personal protection, we recommend annual testing for anyone who has had two or more sex partners in the past year (we consider this to be health maintenance- we also recommend you get your blood pressure and cholesterol checked regularly).   My prediction is that your tests will be negative but it will also reassure you and serve as a good place to start a relationship from.

Hope this helps. Please don't worry.  EWH
