It is not a risk because it is a superficial exposure. In order for HIV infection to occur blood must be directly injected into your blood stream and even if, there isn't a sufficient amount from the incident you seem to be concerned about.
Maybe hepatitis B is a possibility and you should check with your doctor if a vaccination is warranted.
But certainly not HIV.
I accidentally stabbed myself with a discarded needle and the Doctor at the emerg didn't feel the need to have me tested but I insisted on it for peace of mind. But he did give me a hep B shot .
In hindsight and after reading up on it I did not need to have a test. And neither do you.
HIV is unable to reproduce outside its living host (unlike many bacteria or fungi, which may do so under suitable conditions), except under laboratory conditions; therefore, it does not spread or maintain infectiousness outside its host.
HIV is transmitted by;
Unprotected penetrative anal and/or vaginal sex
Sharing works with other IV drug users
Mother to child
Thanks again .
But i am still worried , as it is said that if there is bleeding from both partner so hiv can be transmitted .
It will remove my worries if you go in a little bit explaination that
1)why hiv transmission can not take place in my condition as the needle prick place was actively bleeding and also the hiv person finger . ..
This is my last question ..
Thanks
Not possible for HIV transmission to take place and no you do not need to test.
Thanks .
But many people say that hiv can pass if both have fresh wound. i mean just remove the needle afterblood drawing , there was still bleeding at the place of needle prick and then hiv person whose finger was also bleeding press his finger against my hand ( place of needle prick ).both are fresh bleeding.
1)your answer is no ...i would like to know that
1) is it not the possible way that the hiv person blood can enter my body ?
2) do i need to test .
Thanks
