Needlestick in the environment

What is the risk of infection following a needlestick in the environment? Last week I was barefoot outside my house taking out the garbage and i accidentally stepped on a needle. Can hiv infect from environmental needlesticks?

Don't believe you. If a needle is lying on the ground it is flat and not sticking up in the air.
