ONE NIGHT UNPROTECTED

Hi:
I am a gay white male who was the on the recieving end of anal intercourse with another gay white male. He did not have a condom on. It lasted a few minutes and there was no ejaculation. He said that he is not HIV positive, but I know that he has a lot of annonimous sex - so I am assuming he does not know his status for sure. He does not use drugs, but he is a alcholic (boy can I pick em!) We also has mouth (his) to anal (mine). What are the odds of transmition through one encounter such as this?

No ejaculation and unprotected sex that lasted in few minutes lessen the risk of contracting HIV. However, a risk is still a risk so you need to be tested. Get the post potential 4 week test, then follow-up at 6-8 week to know your status and 3 months for conclusive result.

Thanks! God, I am an idiot. I am sick over it. Tomorrow I am going to be tested just to know if have to been infected prior to this event. I play it safe, but one never knows... I will be counting down for the 3 month mark for this event.

It is a risk and you will need to test! Anal sex is more risky than other forms

With that said you can test 6 weeks after this exposure to get a good indacation of your status and again at 3 months to get your conclusive result.

Hope this helps

Always use condoms
