Risk Concern

Hello Dr, I appreciate your expert advice as I am quite inexperienced with sex.

Went to a legally operated brother with friends which is regulated by the government.

I fingered her unprotected for about 15 minutes and then masterbated myself with the same hand. Worried about Vaginal secretions on my hand I am uncircumsized.

Received condon protected oral 20 minutes afterwards while still fingering her during this time. No cuts on the fingers.

Sexual intercourse less then a minute due to anxiety. Condom Protected no breakage apparent but concerned of possible condom weakening as I masterbated myself with condom on for 15 minutes. Went a bit limp condom was still on but not to the penis base after brief intercourse. Is the condom not at the base a risk?

Changed comdon when aroused again followed by another minute of protected sex follwed by masterbation Then finished with protected oral.

What is my risk? Any STD risk like herpes? I did notice a pimple but really cant remember that well but it dont think it was around vaginal area more on her leg.

By law the girls get tested every two months for all STD's and HIV. I called the brothel and they said she is new to working there working for less then a week so this means to me she must have been recently tested and for me not to worry as it was all protected. Initiallly the girl wouldnt let me finger her which seems to be against their policy which concerns me in after thought. She even did a health check by looking at my penis when i came in.

Should I get tested? Any risks here even in the slightest? I want to test as I have a girlfriend and we have unprotected sex. If no risk I am happy to but this incident behind me and never repeat it.

Thank you so much

Welcome to our Forum. All of the activities that you describe are no risk for STDs, including HIV.  For starters, as you point out , it is unlikely that your partner had HIV or an STD.  Secondly, your exposures were either masturbation, which is safe sex, or condom protected which is also safe sex.  STDs are not transmitted when a person gets genital secretions on their hand and then goes on to touch themselves.  The organisms which cause infection tend to be susceptible to the environment, both in terms of drying and temperature.

Finally, I would point out that even when one has unprotected sex with an infected partner (and most partners do not have infection) the risk of transmission of infection with a single exposure is very low and transmission always has a less than 50% chance of occurring.

You are not at risk and do not have any medical reasons for testing related to this exposure- for HIV or for any other STD.  EWH

This was my answer to the same question on January 17 - "You are not at risk and do not have any medical reasons for testing related to this exposure- for HIV or for any other STD. "  My answer has not changed.

This will be the last answer as part of this thread.  Further questions will be delted without comment.  EWH

Hello Dr, thank you so so much for answering my anxiety driven posts. I tested negative at 40 days for Hiv, Gonnereah, Chlamidyia. Should I get a final test at 8/12 weeks or can I close the door on this event and move on. Thank you again for you help. I am just so worried as I have a partner. Thanks

I think you are over reading and over interpreting what has been said.  When I said no risk I meant it.  You need to move on.  your exposures were no risk.  EWH

Hello Dr, further to the post to Alex _s fluid touched inside condom I searched the forum and found this from Dr Hunter who said no risk. I am more confused then ever now. I hope you can clarify as I also performed fingeringas did she and then she put a condom on me seconds later I assume residual fluids would have touched the condom possibly inside. Worried as I mostly masterbated with a condon on during the entire time which no doubt would have caused massaging on urethra. I need you help

Hello Dr. I hope that you respond. I just read your advice to Alex_s "vaginal fluid inside condom" I also performed fingering in my described encounter and then touched my penis. The csw asl put the condom on me she I assume would have also had traces of fluid on her hands.

You told me no risk and move on which I did. Curiosity brought me back 2 read related posts. Your response seems to differ from my situation as one could assume when putting on a condom after fingering that fluid may touch parts of it. I am now going into a tailspin thinking I went from no testing to possibly a low risk. The girl that I saw was on her first shift there when I saw here and now she has not been there for weeks which has me wondering. Please help doc as I am confused. Do I medically require a test. I masterbated for most of the time with condom on so if there were fluids from a hand transfer I would seem to definately be at risk. I have a partner and we do not use condoms. I am do confused!! Please help

Thank you so much Dr. I hope you answer me one last time as I have been a basket case over these last couple of days and yes you are right I have alot of guilt especailly in feeling I ruined my life and potentially hers if there was a chance.

It would be difficult to tell her that we need to use condoms until I get tested but from your repeated posts you indicate nothing to worry about.

I am constantly re-reading your post for assurances. I even called the brothel and have scared them with my anxieties asking on when she was lasted tested which they would not disclose for legal reasons only saying girls get tested every two months which is a law in my country for established brothels.

Sorry to ask again.. last time I promise but no risk for HIV here but what about for Chlaymidia or anything here or can I move on with a clear concience and then focus on my guilt and making amends.

Thank you so much Dr as your credentials are extremely impressive in the STD/HIV field.

I really do not see any reason for you to be concenred.  Wheter she has something or not is irrlevant- your masturbation of her was zero risk.  You just need to do what it takes to get over your guilt. EWH

Hello, you are correct that I have anxiety.

I can't shake the thought that she was a brothel worker and has sex with many men and that I fingered her and had brief protected intercourse. I am not overly concerned with the oral as it was protected. I am greatly concerned that I performed fingering and had exposure to vaginal fluids which would have then transferred to my penis when masterbating.

You stated that no test is needed and being an expert I should trust your statements completely. By the anxiety I have I couldnt imagime waiting even 4 weeks for a test due to my worry and anxiety. I do have alot of guilt as I have a partner which I practice unprotected sex with.

Do you think it would be fair for her to test or is this still a non testing issue and have no need to worry. Rest assured I wont be doing this again and will seek couseling for my behavior when intoxicated.

Your comments would be very helpful. Thank you.

One one hand, in science one can never say never. On the other hand, your risk is, as I said, miniscule. If you choose to worry about this exposure, then you should also worry that you will be hit by lightening becasue your risk is similar.  That's the story.  My sense is your questions are a reflection of your guilt and anxiety as they certainly do not reflect true risk.  You need to move on.  EWH

Thank you Dr. You stated no risk for STD. From searching the site I believed that one could obtain herpes even from protected oral and protected intercourse.

Embarassingly my intercourse only lasted about 2 minutes on both instances that night. Maybe this wasnt enough time as my protected area only came into contact with her vagina briefly. Oral was also protected. Only non protected was finering which you indicated no risk

Can you provide further insight? Thank you. My last question.
