Hello everyone, I recently had an occupational exposure to HIV and I'm wondering two things that you might could help me with.
1. I got infected blood in my eye and mouth. What are the realistic chances of infection? The ER basically just said don't worry about it, here's some PEP, have a good day
2. I'm concerned about long term effects. They put me on Truvada, and Isentress for ten days and the side effects are killing me. I have vomiting, diarrhea, abdominal pain and cramping, plust the one that really worries me is face pain- like neuropathy to my entire face constantly. I'm wondering what are the odds anything will become long term and could it be damaging my DNA and causing who knows what ailments later in life? basically should I continue the course... I'm 5 days into the prescribed ten days now
thanks for any help or advice in advance
2. They don't give PEP for 10 days.
