Welcome to our Forum. I will try to help. You have a fundamental misunderstanding of how HIV is spread. HIV is spread only by penetrative sex or by injection of infected material deep into tissues. It is not spread by touching, mutual masturbation, oral sex or in the context of condom protected sex in which the condom is used correctly an stays intact. You do not have HIV relate to this encounter, of this I am confident. Here are the reasons why:
1. It is most unlikely that your masseuse ha HIV. Most do not.
2. Your only insertive act was receipt of oral sex, a no risk event an in your case, you were condom protected
3. HIV is not spread with body rubs. That your partner may have gotten here genital secretions on you is irrelevant- still no risk.
4. If your symptoms would have been due to HIV, your HIV blood test would have been positive within just a few days of when they began- your tests have been negative on several occasions.
As for your symptoms, they are coincidental an due to something other than HIV or STD. Your anxiety may be amplifying them.
Bottom line- no risk exposure, No evidence of HIV or STD. You do not need to worry an do not need further testing. EWH
There are no known reports of herbal teas or remedies interferring with HIV tests.
That will be it for this thread. there will be no further responses. EWH
Dr EWH/Hunter,
One question and this is just for my knowledge.I believe this is a legitimate question to ask and hope you guys won't consider this as a paranoid question.
During the period I started feeling unwell (within the 1st week) I consumed a herbal drink for a couple of days. that i generally consume when I'm sick (flu, cold). It has some herbs that act as anti-virals and antibiotics. My first hiv ag/ab test was 3weeks+
Then in the beginning of the 5th week I had the same drink for 2-3 days. I redid the test in the mid of the 6th week. Now my question is what's the chance of my test results being faulty because of the consumption I had?
Thanks a Million!
I'm worried if the recent complication is due to prostatitis. I've heard that asymptotic inflammatory prostatitis could be HIV driven. But most people say it's too early for such a complication (6.4 weeks post exposure).
Please guide me!
Thanks You Very Much!
Hi EWH,
Doctors still haven't been able to find out what's causing my symptoms.Had mild lung pains with a dry cough and the Xray turned out to be normal. Night sweats and body aches still persist. The most recent complication came up with my prostate and scrotum. After an ejaculation I started getting severe burning sensations with my scrotum and prostate and it's been lasting for a couple of days now. Did Hiv Ag/Ab test after 39 Days of exposure and it is negative.Had a simultaneous FBE test and abnormalities were the rise of neutrophils and white blood cells. Had a urine test and no urinal infections as well. Might repeat a the FBE in a couple of days.
I know it's hard to provide a diagnosis from a forum but I really don't know how and why these complications are coming up.It's clear that whatever the infection I've contracted is causing problems to almost my every organ.
I would be extremely grateful see your opinion.
Thanks
As I said, the events you describe were NO Risk.
At 33 days testing for HIV antigen and antibody is conclusive as well, verifying what I have now said (twice). EWH
Hi,
Thanks for your response! It could be coincidental but it continuously worries me as we don't know what's causing these symptoms. Apart from general symptoms I've mentioned I had excessive sweating last night and Diarrhea in the morning. I will consult the doctor again.
So is Hiv Ag/Ab test highly accurate at 33 days?
Thanks Again
