Please help!

This past August I traveled to Manila, Philippines to visit a friend. Mind you prior to my trip I had chronic diaheria.  Took several stool tests back in the states and a blood test but tests showed nothing. So here I am in Asia and a few days into I develop a watery more fluid diaheria. At this point I'm not too worried. As my trip progresses my friend takes me to this massage parlor called Kremlin which is apparently tests all there girls for STDs.  I end up having protected sex with 2 girls at the same time ( 3 some). When I get back to the states a few weeks later I develop a strong cough and sneezing for a few weeks and which goes away and then comes back again  a few weeks later.  Keep  in mind I still have diaheria while this us going on. A week or so the periodic sneezing and coughing goes away and hasn't come back since.

Fast forward Christmas Day. I  wake up and take a shower and notice once I get out i am itchy on my arms and chest.  There are a few bumps on my chest and arms that really itch.  After each day goes by it seems I develop a new itchy bump on either my chest or arm.  I begin to really stress and think I may have an std.  I even develop a few hives that go away shortly.  I think the hives may be due to stress. Two days later I developed stomach cramps that last maybe 4 days.

At this point my rash symptoms have subsided about two days ago. I've started taking some probiotics which seem to be helping with my diaheria since I've started having more formed stools, although today I had some cramping in my stomach which lead to diaheria.  Yesterday I turned in my last stool sample to my doctor so they could test it. Supersinglyy my stool looked normal when I took the test. I should get the results back tomorrow.

So doctor should I be worried and how much am I at risk of having caught something? Please help me doc Im extremely worried.

Thank you for your time.

Yes; rash and itching are the only symptoms of scabies.  So what?  The vast majority of people with scabies don't have HIV.

As I said, will be happy to comment if you have an HIV test and want to tell me the result.  Until then, I will delete any other comments on this thread.

Doesn't scabies usually cause a rash of some sort?

Every symptom caused by HIV is more frequently due to other things.  HIV certainly can cause skin rash, but not all rashes are alike.  The rash associated with HIV doesn't itch and always is accompanied by other symptoms, usually high fever and sore throat.

I extremely appreciate the time you've taken to answer my question.  Why do though most websites like webmd and other suggest that HIV causes a rash?

Thank again

Welcome to the forum.

The sexual exposures you describe were quite safe, and your symptoms are not suggestive of HIV or any other STD; HIV and STDs don't cause hives or other itchy skin rash.  Your intestinal symptoms suggest a standard gastrointestinal infection of some sort.

But since you are concerned, I suggest you discuss the situation with your doctors and have an HIV and standard STD tests.  From all you say, you can expect the results to be negative.  Those results probably will be more reassuring than anything I can say.

Feel free to let me know the results if and when you have been tested.

Best wishes--  HHH, MD
