Possible transmission in dental setting?

Hi all,

I received oral treatment several times in Beijing, China, where official data suggests the number of infection with hiv is 12424 (population 20 million). During the procedure, doctors used once-off medical equipments. There were covers on the surface of the handles of operating-lamp and dental handpiece. My concern is, before my procedures, the doctors used their hands(with new gloves) to connect the new once-off medical equipments to dental handpiece and they adjusted the operating-lamp with hands during the procedure, but the covers on the handle of the operating-lamp and handpiece haven't been changed before my procedure. What if the last patient is hiv positive and his blood left on the covers (may through doctor's gloves while he adjusted the lamp), then the doctor changed new gloves and touched the blood on the covers when he adjusted the lamp again, then he put his finger into my mouth to help operate(i bled much during the proced). Am I at risk of being infeced? Is there any documented case of hiv transmission during oral treatment(Despite the 1991 Florida case)? Is it possible that hiv being transmitted from one patient to another(like from gloves to the cover, then from the cover to the new gloves, and from the new gloves to me at last)?

P.S. I recieved saliva tests several times before the dental treatment which suggest that I am hiv negative.

I am so concerned and thank you very very much for your answer!!!!!!

Thank you very much for ur reply, Lizzie.
Does it mean that once several drops of blood expose to the air, hiv in the blood becomes inactive and unable to infect IMMEDIATELY even if the blood is NOT DRIED yet?

best regards!

you had NO risk

hiv is not transmitted through environmental surfaces or inanimate objects.  once exposed to air, hiv becomes INACTIVE and UNABLE to infect.
