Thanks again, I was just wondering if that scenario would be considered 'Conclusive.'
You never need to test at 6 months unless you are on Chemo, take anti-rejections drugs for an organ transplant or you are a chronic IV drug abuser. Having said that you never had a risk of contracting HIV.
Thanks Teak. Now I feel confident about myself but I do just have one other question. I have been hearing a lot about the HIV RNA PCR test, and I have followed some arguments about it, and I was just wondering if you could clear it up for me. If you get an RNA PCR done at around a month post-exposure, and it is negative, and then get an antibody test at approx. 3 months post-exposure, does that mean you absolutely don't have HIV and don't need testing up to 6 months? This has nothing to do with me, I just wish to understand it. Thanks for your time and input.
Yes we can say zero, you never had a risk.
sorry I just need a litttttttleee bit more clarification before I can calm down :(
okay I understand that the risk is almost nonexistent due to the lack of penetration, but can we really say zero risk? open/sore skin damage or scratches exposed to fresh precum... wouldnt you think the material would still be infectious due to the short exposure time to air outside the body?
It,s best to stick to the facts and trolling the net for information can make the situation worse and cause more confusion. The fact is that you never had a risk and you know the reason why.If you except the facts about hiv transmission you will stop worrying and be less anxious.
alright, thank you. It is just so nerve racking and scary! I started doing searches on google and I couldnt find anything that wasnt about infected blood getting into profusely bleeding gashes or needle sticks etc.
There was no penetration at anytime during the encounter and oral sex and rimming are no risk for hiv transmission. Also, hiv transmission occurs inside the body not outside. The pre-cum around your anus is zero risk aswell. From the events you describe you don,t require testing for hiv but may want to test for other more common std,s.
PS ok at the end i said no evidence of bleeding, but that is just what i assume, i never saw any blood and he never mentioned anything and he would have certainly known I hope. Also, I asked if he was clean after the fact...he said he was 'clean in every way" and had gotten all his bloodwork done the previous week at his annual physical.
