RISK OF TRANSMISSION OF HIV - IRRITATION OF THE URINARY MEATUS.

Hi. I need help, yesterday I had receptive oral sex with my partner who is HIV + (with an undetectable viral load and CD4 count over 890), 3 hours after that I took a shower and I felt irritation on my urinary meatus which completely dissapeared in two hours, I know he put his tongue in that place and I checked his mouth and it's healthy.

I know receptive oral sex is not likely to transmit HIV (very-low risk), but I am scared to death that because of the irritation I can catch it. I went to a hospital to try to get the post - exposure profilaxis but they don't wanna give it to me, cause I don't match criteria (I am not a health worker exposed by accident).

Could I already be infected?. Please help (by the way I live in Peru)

Thanks. It's just that here in Peru they say all kind of unprotected sex is risky for HIV. Any advice for serodiscordant couples?, do you know any reliable info or document I can rely on?.

Incorrect.  The irritation makes no difference.  You didn't have a risk, which is why you were (thankfullly) denied nPEP.

I would strongly recommend having a sit down with your partner's ID doc, so you can educate yourself on what is a risk (unprotected anal sex, or sharing IV drugs only) and what isn't (everything else).
