Mutual Masturbation with special risk

I know you’ve both commented extensively on this type of exposure, but I believe I have a unique risk.  I am a man and a man of unknown status masturbated with me.  Some of his semen landed on the head of my penis.  This contact did not come via his hand (which would mean it was outside of the body longer), but straight from him.  I am circumcised and I wiped it off immediately without him rubbing any of it into me.

I know semen in the eye in this type of situation would be of moderate risk.  And I know semen on regular, unbroken skin is of no risk.  How does this exposure fit into the spectrum?  Would it be as risky as unprotected oral sex?  If the head of the penis can absorb HIV during sex, couldn’t it also in this situation?

Also, you used to be able to search the archives by key word, but when Medhelp reformatted their site, the search results now include the support group which is not the doctors’ advice.  Is there any way to search the doctors’ archives by keyword?

Dear Rob,

In each forum, there is a box in the right panel just above the "Related Experts" link, with the text "Search this forum" in it. Using that search instead of the global one returns results only from the forum you are in, instead of the entire MedHelp website.

Hope this helps!

Your exposure is zero risk.  You did not penetrate your partner in any way and your exposure to his secretions was modest. The exposure did not contaminate a mucosal surface but rather landed on his glans where the epithelial cells are far more resistant to infection than at mucosal surfaces.   Thus this exposure is within the realm of masturbation which is safe sex.  No risk you you for acquisition of HIV or any other STD.  Please realize that in the course of masturbation small amounts of genital secretions are inadvertently shared between partners, nonetheless there are no HIV transmissions which have occurred in this way.

Hope this helps.  EWH

Thanks for the comment on the seacrh function.  I will pass it on.

I meant to say that it did hit the glans, but I wipped it off quickly.
