Reliability of a test

Hello,

I got tested for HIV more than three months after a risk, and the results were negative. But on the results sheet, there is just written: "Serodiagnosis for HIV-1 and HIV-2", and then: "Negative (ELFA - Vidas)".

Is it an antibody test? Could it be just an antigen (p24) test? Is it reliable?

Please help me, thank you.

You tested negative past the 3 month post exposure window. You don't have HIV.

Thank you, Teak, but how do you know that? According to what I read on the Internet, ELFA method is similar to ELISA screening. But do all ELISA tests search for antibodies and antigens?
