Risk

About 11 days ago I had a dou with a couple of escorts. We kissed and they both gave me oral one gave the other oral .we then had protected sex . THis happened twice .Also one escort the one I had sexual intercorse with had a neg test  9 days later. This one allows clients to ejaculate in her  which I did not know. Also the other one , I was her second DAte.

I have several questions .
1 What are the risks of getting HIV from this ?
2 Is a Proviral DNA HIV by PCr test accurate at 14 days?It seems in the us they say 28 days, but all other countries say 10-14 days is what you want , Why is this.Do you know if this test (dna ) can be fooled by a Hep b Vacination done in june .Also I have read about false positives but the test center says it is rare , Is that true.

3 I have read there are documented cased from giving oral to a man , if so How few 100-200?(trying to way her risk)
4 Has anyone gotten HIV from what I described ( recieving oral , kissing ect.?

Thank you for your time.I know this is stupid but I hope you will take the time.I hope you can answer thes questions that noone seems to be able to .

I probably had more chance of a false positive than getting the disease, that is irony thanks doc.You really did help.

The absolute rate of false positives is low and always has been.  I don't have exact numbers.  But when testing someone like you, who has zero risk of having been infected, it's still a risk.  If your PCR test is positive, it is MORE LIKELY TO BE FALSE THAN REAL.  In other words, most likely a PCR test would be negative; and if positive, most likely will be meaningless but frightening.  Why would you want to take that risk?

As I said in my original reply, your risk of HIV is not high enough to require testing at all.  If you are going to worry about this level of HIV risk, then I have to assume you never drive, do not cross busy streets, and will never again take a commercial flight--all of which carry a greater risk of death than the chance you caught HIV.

This is my last comment in this thread.

I knew your oral was unprotected.  Makes no difference.  Nobody has ever been proved to catch HIV by receiving oral sex.  There is a risk of giving oral (to a male, not a female), but it's rare.

Re-read my response to your second question.  Do not have a PCR test.

Also there isn't any documented cases of anyone contracting HIV from being given oral sex. You don't need to test for HIV.

I agree,it is impossible to get HIV from protected sex, unless the condom breaks. The only thing you should do is be tested for other stds, like herpes which you can get with or without a condom.

The reason why condoms are made is to prevent std's/hiv.  Why else would you use a condom?  I don't get why people are worried when they have PROTECTED sex.  As long as it didnt break, let it go.

You had safe sex, because you used a condom for vaginal sex, and oral sex really isn't a risk, either receiving or giving.

1) Almost no risk of HIV.

2) I don't even recommend HIV testing.  But if you do it for reassurance, a single standard (ELISA) test 6 weeks after exposure is sufficient.  I strongly recommend against a DNA/PCR test.  Those tests sometimes give false positive results--which will needlessly knock you for an emotional loop if it happens.  No HIV diagnostic test is affected by HBV vaccination or any other treatment or drug.

3)  Those few cases of transmission by insertive fellatio are not confirmed in any realistic sense.  To my knowledge there are no such truly confirmed cases.  And even if you consider those confirmed, what does 100-200 cases--over 20+ years, and given the high frequency of oral sex--tell you about the risk?  You should worry about something more likely to harm you, like being struck by lightning--which literally is a much higher threat to your life than HIV from the exposures you describe.

4) Nope, not to my knowledge.

Good luck--  HHH, MD
