Sacred

I had sex on 3 separate occasions w CSW in China and one here in Vancouver bet 2004 and 2006. The first one in China was protected vaginal sex, second and third occasion is protected oral and vaginal sex. The fourth one is here in Vancouver in 2006 was unprotected oral and protected vaginal sex. After this fourth one, I had a painless pimple on above my groin area and I squeezed it, blood came out. Went away after a few days and I didnt think much of it. At the same time, I felt stressed, around neck and chest area and may have fever and flu. Then in Sept of 2007, I started a long term relationship w my gf. We had unprotected oral and vaginal sex. In Oct, she got a flu, fever, skin rashs, and tenderness in her lymph nodes on the chests. Thereafter, I had a painless pimple on my testicles on couple of occasions. Then I had small painless blisters on my penis head. Also I had bites ( dermatologist saw it and said it my be bites that leaves dark purples marks on my thigh ( maybe 3 to 5 spots)
I also had small white spots on my skin.  Now I had wrinkled skin on my penis w what looks like infection around the tip of the opening but painless. I do not have unusual discharge...occasionally i have an itch on my groin area. Lately I started having neck pain and arm numbness and both legs are numb w pins and needles after being in any position for a very short time. I read some where 35% of Hiv infected pple have some neuropathy symptoms.

I do not know what to do now. I m going to get tested but I m so scared. Do you think I have HIV? Std? I know you assess risks.... and based on risks assessments, probably low.. Given my gf was a virgin ( or at least that is what she said) I started only getting continous symptoms after the long term relationship. PLEASE Advise.
Thanks

This is not HIV.  As for your rectal itch, there are many possible causes.  Some of the most common are hemorrhoids.  "Jock itch" is a mild fungal dermatitis- it will persist until treated if that is the case.  Bottom line-see your doctor.

End of post- no more questions please.  EWH

Doctor, every morning when I wake up, i have an itch around my anus, area between scrotum and thigh, buttocks. There is no rash or anything, other than on my tip of my penis opening,,, a round ring of reddish skin around the tip. The rest of skin is abit wrinkling. Could this be Jock Itch? I have been having this for a couple of years now, on and off....Does Jock Itch go away ever? If not, could it be bc of HIV?

thanks

Recurring genital blisters could be herpes.  The next time they recur you should get examined and have a culture by a trained health care provider. In the mean time, I would advise using condoms.  EWH

I just came back from physiotherapist and she said my feet are too flat and that is what is causing my numbess in legs....hope she is right....

Recurring blisters ( painless) and skin infection around opening of penis,,, are those to be of any concern. I do not have any discharge...but my penis skin is all wrinkly as if some antibody is attacking it.... and a different shade around the opening.  Any ideas?

Thanks Doctor! You guys been great here! Appreciate it

Forget your risk of HIV. There is almost none.  All of your vaginal exposures were protected- condoms work, no risk.  Thus your risk is entirely related to a single oral exposure to a CSW.  Odds of HIV for you if she was infected is less than 1 in 10,000 and less than 10% (far less) of CSWs are HIV infected, thus through the math alone, your risk is less than 1 in 100,000.

As for your rash and neuropathy- they are not STDs nor HIV related.  the neuropathy of HIV you mention is a figure for late stage HIV which takes years ( a decade or more) to occur.

Personally, I think your risk is so low that getting testing is a waste of time.  Realizing however that here is a large component of anxiety operative here, you should go on and get tested ASAP so you can put this behind you.  Hope this helps.  EWH
