MSM, drug-use, cut lip and oral sex

Hello.

I am a gay man who sometimes has sex with methamphetamine users, a group which has a duplicated risk factor for HIV (and of which I also belong).

I have two questions...

The first regards a recent incident, in which I had bit my inner lip and drew blood during the afternoon and about 12 hours later engaged in a short PNP session ("party and play", or sex and meth use), during which I gave (unprotected) oral sex for about 15-20 minutes so, which also involved a great deal of pre-cum. Was there a risk?

My other question regards the durability of condoms during prolonged periods of anal intercourse. PNP sessions between MSM's can last quite some time (sometimes as long as 5 or 6 hours or more), I am wondering when it is advisable to cycle in fresh condoms during these kinds of sessions. I have heard stories of people sero-converting as a result of broken condoms while PNP'ing for only a few hours.

Thank you.

Hello, unless your cut were very deep, 12 hours would be enough to close the wound, only fresh deep and actively bleeding cuts would pose some risk.

Oral sex is not considered a risky activity, because there are no reports of people getting HIV by doing it.

Regarding condoms, it seems you're having sex with several partners during the same session, it would be advisable to change condoms for every partner, every time you ejaculate, whenever a condom slips, and whenever a condom start feeling weird, like dry or if it gets cloudy, you sound check them regularly. For a session that long, you would need several condoms.

Hope this helps.
