Survival of HIV Virus.

Hi!
My barber mistakenly used a rezor that was used on a person who was getting shave next to me.
By the time my barber realised that he picked up a wrong rezor he already shaved me for atleast 4 to 5 minutes.
Time gap may have been 20 to 30 seconds but the thing is during this time gap rezor was closed (bent inside) not exposed to Air.
Doctor I am worried that if there was HIV infected blood on the rezors blade and it may have survived during the time gap of 20 to 30 seconds, since it was closed (bent inside) not exposed to Air and i had shaving cuts on my cheek and chin.
Can above mentioned scenario transmit HIV?

The only risks for HIV in adults are:
1) Having unprotected anal or vaginal sex, or
2) sharing intravenous needles with IV drug users.

The risks I listed above are the ONLY risks, and your event is not on that list. There is no information you could add that would make this a risk for HIV. HIV is not transmitted by blood or fluid on objects, even if the object is a razor.

The razor was not stored in a vacuum pump, and to not expose it to air the pump would have sucked a lot of blood from the other person just getting the razor air free and into the pump DURING the accidental shaving cut, so it isn't EVER possible to avoid air.
Thanks for the Answer sir. Rezor was not stored in vaccum pump but it was a traditional rezor that gets closed when you fold it inside. Don't you think closed  Rezor (folded inside) provides sort of vaccum?

Additionally some websites say any sort of NICKs and CUTS can transmit HIV and some websites say only large deep cuts can transmit HIV. If HIV does not live outside then why does size of cuts matter?

Hard to know whether my cuts were deep or not but it hurt when AFTER SHAVE LOTION was applied on my face.
No one has been infected via nicks and cuts. This simply does not happen.

You don't need to worry about large, deep wounds either. This would only occur when one HIV+ person and one HIV- person were in a very bad accident together and their wounds might be co-mingling, allowing access to the bloodstream. If this happened to you, you would both be in the emergency department at your hospital hoping you don't die or lose a limb. HIV would be the least of your worries and you would be under professional medical care.
It is not necessary to focus on how long HIV survives because the fact is that NOBODY gets infected that way, and the risks for HIV that I listed are the ONLY realistic ways that people get infected with HIV.
"Don't you think closed  Razor (folded inside) provides sort of vaccuum?" No, and it's kind of silly for you to think there is a way to avoid air just because it sort of avoids air. That's like saying if a mammal jumps, it can sort of fly.
I'm sure you understand the meaning of the word "only" but your repeated questions are acting as if you don't. Move on from this silly fixation about something that clearly isn't in the only 2 above.

Thank you so much Sir and Ma'am for providing clear understanding about HIV transmission because i was worrying about non sexual route of transmission.
As you said only two ways to transmit HIV in adults.
Even time gap that is 20 to 30 seconds between the shared Rezor does not matter at all?
I'm sure you understand the meaning of the word "only" but your repeated questions are acting as if you don't. Move on
Okay sir/ma'am finally last question then i will not be bothering you anymore because i understand replying to these sort of question is very irritating.

I never had a sexual exposure any sort of niether veginal, anal nor oral.
I never shared needles in my life with IV drug users.
So am i free from HIV ?
Correct. If you never do any of those activities with someone who is HIV+, you will NEVER have to worry about HIV.
I forgot to ask.
Do you recommend me to get tested for HIV in my concern?
I do not recommend and HIV test for the same reason I do not recommend you get a pregnancy test - because it is IMPOSSIBLE that the test would be positive.
Your situation involves personal contact with an object in air  (razor, hand, maybe blood, maybe cuts, etc. ) . You will be happy to learn that you had no risk, because you can't get hiv from personal contact except unprotected penetrating vaginal or anal with a penis, neither of which you did and you didn't share hollow needles to inject with which is the only other way to acquire hiv - there are ONLY 3 ways to get hiv. Note that 2 of them require a penis and the third requires a hollow injecting shared needle - there are no OTHER ways to get hiv. Analysis of large numbers of infected people over the 40 years of hiv history has proven that people don't get hiv in the way you are worried is a risk.
Hiv is a fragile virus in air or saliva and is effectively instantly dead in either air or saliva so the WORST that could happen is dead virus rubbed you, and obviously anything which is dead cannot live again so you are good. Blood and cuts would not be relevant in your situation since the hiv has become effectively dead, so you don't have to worry about them to be sure that you are safe.
There is no reason for a person to test when they are safe. The advice took into consideration that the other person might be positive, so move on and enjoy life instead of thinking about this non-event. hiv prevention is straightforward since there are only 3 ways you can become infected, so next time you wonder if you had a risk, ask yourself this QUESTION. "Did I do any of the 3?" Then after you ANSWER "No, I didn't" you will know that it's time to move on back to your happy life.
No one got hiv from what you did during 40 years of hiv history and no one will get it in the next 40 years of your life either.  You can do what you did any time and be safe from hiv.
The other person's status is irrelevant when you have no exposure to live virus.
If you still have questions about your risk, after reading all of the above, then it is because you didn't answer the QUESTION above.
It's silly for you to think that people get hiv from barbers. Imagine how many people have been cut from many other things too, yet they touch other people who are also cut. Do you think everyone lives in a bubble otherwise hiv will eventually infect them from a cut?
