Symptoms after possible HIV Exposure - Help!

Dear Doc,

I need some help...

In the early hours of 3rd Feb I met a guy in a sauna and had unprotected oral sex. This lasted for around 5-10mins and there was no seamen but maybe a little pre-cum I can’t be sure! At the time I had a sore throat that’s had started earlier that day following a Commershal flight, I also had 2 or 3 mouth ulcers which I get regularly.

Saturday Day time the sore throat remied the same but I developed a cold sore which I get a few times a year.
On Sunday I noticed my tonsils where inflamed and a single white spot was present, my tongue was also white and furry at the back.
On Monday I noticed I had a sore neck which I thought may be a swollen lynthnode.
On Tuesday I went to the clinic with my symptoms and told the nurse everything. She confirmed I had inflamed tonsils and a swollen lymph on my neck. She said this is defiantly a viral infection and I should take non prescribed meds and monitor it. She also advise I get a full sexual health screen, I have arranged this for a few weeks time.
Wednesday I have no changes. But the mouth ulcers cleared up.
Thursday (today) I have an enlarged lymph in my left armpit!

Questions;
Are these symptoms that I have described and in the time scales a possible indication of being infected with HIV? After doing so much reading most sites state that its no possible to have symptoms before the 2-3week mark, but there are other sites that say you can develop symptoms in just a few days.
Yeasterday I sent off a home test kit for HIV from test.hiv a NHS provider. How accurate will this test be so early on ?
Do the ulcers that I had in my mouth put me at greater risk?

I am really really worried and concern is unbearable I can’t go to work or function at all....could this be a symptom of the early stages of HIV? Please let me now your thoughts.

Thank you

Did you give oral or receive it? You might have an std but you can't have HIV. There is an std forum for best answers on that. Nurse said you have a viral infection and you already had a sore throatso do as she advises to treat it.

HIV is instantly inactivated in air and also in saliva which means it is effectively dead so it can't infect from touching or oral activities. It doesn't matter if you and they were actively bleeding or had cuts at the time either because the HIV is effectively dead.
Only adult risks are unprotected penetrating vaginal or anal sex or sharing needles that you inject with. This sentence is all you need to know to protect yourself against HIV.
Even with blood, lactation, cuts, rashes, burns, etc the air or the saliva does not allow inactivated virus to infect from touching or oral activities. The above HIV science is 40 years old and very well established.
No one got HIV from touching or oral activities in 40 years of HIV history, so likely no one will in the next 40 years of your life either.

Thank you for your quick and punchy response. I gave oral.
Check on the std forum but you can't have HIV. Best of luck.
