condom slip off with csw

Hi! dr I posted my question in the wrong section, a kind lady gave me a response (she says it was no risk condom came off at withdrawl) but I would like a professional opinion.

Here is my story:

Last night I had an encounter with a CSW in north America. We used a latext condom during the intercourse but at one point the condom came off completely while switching position. I may have been exposed for maybe 5 seconds since I noticed it emmediately.

The CSW did not seem as concerned as me because she said our genitals did really come into contact she assumed that it was still protected even with the slip off because it happened while she got off from on top of me.

I guess you can understand my concerns, I asked the CWS a few questions maybe it might be helpful in your assessment.

1)she told me that she gets check every three months and that her last test was in June.
2)She has been a CWS for less then a year
3)She plans to retire next month because she will have her diploma and will look for work in a hair salon.
4)she also used to be a tripper (don't know if it's relevant)

What can you deduct from this? Of course I plan to get tested but I am also worried about other std's such as gonorhea and herpese, what are the likehood of those.

Thank you for your help

Thank you for the respond doctor,

I would like to add that the condom was stuck in her vagina when she switch positions. The only part of the condom that was showing was the base where the hole is, the rest was totaly stuck in her vagina.

Does this change anything to your analysis

Your exposure was, indeed, very low (close to zero) risk.  Let's review why:

1.  First and foremost, your exposure was protected.  If the condom came off as you were changing positions you were likely outside of her when it came off.  Exposure to external secretions is very low, if any risk.
2.  She was probably not infected.  Most CSWs are not.  In addition, did you know that the reason most CSWs like use of condoms is not because of their risk to you but because they want to protect themselves from their clients.
3.  She told you she was checked regularly and gave you a detailed description of how and why.  Most people tell the truth and the detail she provided makes that even more likely.
4.  If for some reason she was not telling the truth and you were exposed, if you were engaged in intercourse, your risk of infection would be less than 1 in 1000.  In that you were outside of her, your risk wold be far lower.

When you put all of these variables together, the chance that you got HIV from her (or were even exposed) is very, very low.  Getting tested will be god for you piece of mind but, in my opinion you have nothing to worry about.   EWH
