also. quit worrying about someones training or their homophobic views.. heck, i love homophobes.. i like to make them nervous.... LOL!! anyway, as far as training goes.. heck Orasure is trying to get OTC approval for this test.. it doesn't take a rocket scientist to perform one of these tests..ok. here are the facts about the Oraquick test.. go to their website and you will see how they are performed and what happens if they ar ento done correct.. An invalid result such as No line at the C zone, any line outside the C or T zones, a RED background that makes the test hard to determine or NO lines at all on the device.... did your test look like any of the above? Nope, didn't think so...
All they are looking for is 1 line at the C area.. go and look at at the variances of the tests... look at photos of them on google.. none of them are all the same.. all have some kind of differences... but they are only looking at the results... commona sense would tell you that each little test is going to have some differing appearances.. it is a test strip for God's sake..
Also, look at the pregnancy tests in stores... Same thing... same type of device...do you think that it takes a trained person to conduct a pregnancy test? MY God, any idiot can do that and even if they don't do it right... it will give an invalid result... such as like i stated above on Oraquick..be glad you got a negative and move on...there are others who haven't been as fortunate
man, please let this go... this is all nothing really to worry about. do you see what is happening? OCD is kickin in in overdrive.. first it was the fear of her infecting you with the lancet. now, your fears or intrusive thoughts are morphing over to about things said and how people are acting and what they are saying? you see, if you had just let this all go with taking the advice from others about the lancet issue, then you would be happy.. Now, with that said.. yes, the workers may have been unprofessional... but you see, you have called them so much, heck they don't know what to say.. It really is none of your concern about whether the place is anonymous or not.. what does it matter? Keep focused....What does any of this have to do with your test results? WHat do you think the people have to hide from you?
Man, listen... I have been in similar situations before in life.. and it will only get better when you let go, accept that you are negative and move on.Yes, trained personnel should act professional, but it is not going to happen everytime.. Situations like this are the reason I am kind of opposed to the whole HIV rapid test thing in locations other than doctors offices... You see, testing is a professional procedure... and the US govt is allowing this procedure to be done by people who may not be as professional as a standard medical site..therefore allowing some people who choose their words poorly to inititate anxiety in the worried patient...
man, really, ask yourself... what do they have to hide from you? ooooohhhh, a conspiracy.. do you see where i am going with this?? all you need to do is focus on your results... a BIG FAT NEGATIVE! Hooray... end of story....
You don't have to be a nurse to draw blood and run tests, that's what techs are for.
not to be rude, but all you said was "this is nonesense" you didn't answer any of my questions at all.
Lizzie, i didn't mean to imply that she wasn't qualified, just that given that she wasn't a nurse, and that it was a planned parenthood centre, not an HIV specific clinic, she may not have followed the proper procedure if she doesn't do that test a lot, you know what i mean?
ALL i am asking is, do you not find it STRANGE that i could walk in, produce no information, be given no information, and have a test done?
The lancet issue has nothing to do with this question. please answer on only the issue of the obscurity of the process involved PLEASE
when i was 17...i was "trained" to draw blood at our local hospital
when i was 20...i was "trained" as a microbiology technician
when i was 22...i was "trained" to give injections
not being a nurse doesnt mean that the person trained is not qualified...as a matter of fact...she has probably done alot more tests than the nurse that is there.
