he means after one exposure with a male or female unprotected anal/vaginal sex.
Aidsmeds? I'll never make it. Its sooooo depressing over there. You said 1 time exposure, what do you mean?
Wow.. that's so sad, for the girl to be infected and not even know. I think everyone should know their HIV status and if they're unsure to put a condom on.
Teak have you seen someone turn positive after a negative 3 months test?
I don't keep count; I've seen it happen to many times to count. I have a very close heterosexual friend that tested positive after being infected by a female friend that didn't know that she was infected, one time exposure. She has since died, and he and his wife are living very good lives. Yes they still have sex (protected for vaginal) and unprotected for oral and have for the past three years. She tests every year. I suggest anyone that gets confirmed HIV positive to move over to AidsMeds where there is support for newly diagnosed positive people. It's also a very good site for lessons on transmission, drug therapy, and research. They can also help you with ADAP programs for medication if needed.
That's what I figured. I don't see how they can slap an accuracy percentage on a 6 week test. I felt a little better after the negative 6 week, but I'm uneasy again. I'm scared it's going to change.
How often have you seen people test positive for HIV after one exposure?
I've seen negative tests turn postive after 6 weeks. I'm not saying everyone's test will turn positive after an exposure after a 6 weeks test, but yes it happens. It all depends on the antibody build up in the body for the test to detect. Not everyone builds up antibodies as quickly as some. That is the reason a 3 month conclusive has been applied to the test, so that it will catch anyone that has a slow antibody production. I've also seen the positive tests when retested, were actually negative.
