Are my test results conclusive despite continuing symptoms?

I think the main reason I am so nervous is I am in the middle east and if positive i would lose my visa and be deported. My Visa renewal is up in November and I have to have a medical then.

My scenario is I had an exposure in Thailand with a CSW in early June. Vaginal sex was protected but I think i performed cunnilingus, though I was drunk and cant fully remember. I might not have, but sex was definitely with a condom.

A week later I felt unwell (though could be as was a boozy weekend), and I developed and still have a white coating on my tongue (Dr said it wasnt aggressive) but appeared about 10 days after.

16 days post exposure I took the HIV RNA PCR test and the result was not detectable.

Then about 4 weeks after I had a pain in the sides of my throat. It didnt hurt to swallow, but felt like my lymph nodes were sore and underneath my jaw would also go through stages of being sore. So 61 days after exposure I got tested for everything. 4th Generation p24 and AB test was negative, and all other STD's was negative. I even had throat swabs which came back negative.

The throat problem persisted, as does the white coating on my tongue, and I had a ulcer in my mouth develop.

86 days post exposure I went for another 4th Generation test with another clinic, as I thought the original doctor and clinic must be wrong, or didnt want to report me as Positive as it may cause hassle for them. As all HIV positive people are deported.

My 86 day 4th Gen test was Non reactive.

I still have the white coating on my tongue, and seem to pick up colds and coughs regularly.

There isnt a support system out here due to the issue of deportation so I didnt know where else to ask.

Do you think I am definitely negative??

Our members have patiently explained that you had no risk. There is nothing to add to that.

You were never at risk and as stated by everyone you didn't need to test.

You read about something from long time back, this forum wasn't moderated then and people did make up stories  to seek attention and disrupt things around.

You are not going to test positive for this incident no matter how many test you would take because there was lack of exposure. Hence, no risk.

Please move on.

Thank you for your reply.
You're welcome.  I realize that it may be difficult to convince yourself that your are negative, but you have ZERO to worry about.
Thank you. I saw a post on here someone saying they tested negative at 3 months but positive later. He got into an arguement with a user called 'Teak'. Got me worried again. Didnt think it was possible to test positive after a 12 week negative.
I would not believe that someone tested negative at 3 months, but positive later.  If so, they did not get HIV from the exposure (if there was one) that they were testing for at the 3 month mark.

I asked to have my post deleted because I got confused!!  You didn't have a risk.  None.  You had protected sex and gave oral which are not risks for HIV. The only way adults get HIV is from unprotected vaginal or anal sex or sharing IV drug needles.  You can count on air and saliva inactivating the virus.  So, your tests were negative and any test you take for this exposure would be negative because you can't get hiv from your activity.  So, no worries.  No risk.

I understand the layer of fear you have with the idea of deportation but with regards to HIV, you don't have to worry. If your tongue is coated, I'd see your doctor.  You may have oral thrush and a mouth wash would clear it.  You may have a hygiene issue and if you smoke, that would be worse.  But it's not hiv.
Thank you very much for your reply. I really appreciate it.
you are welcome.
Yeah I will. I just found it too coincidental that so many people who also have a particular exposure they are worried about often complain about a white tongue. Also saw a post on here from a few years ago someone saying they tested negative at 3 months but then positive later on?? I didnt think that was possible.
It isn't likely that was a true positive.  It's unfortunate that when people test obsessively, they'll eventually get a false positive.  That's why we advise people to collect their conclusive negative result, and then STOP testing.  More testing won't lead to anything apart from the potential for a false positive and continued worry.  You don't have HIV.
Hi GuitarRox

Sorry to come back to you.
17 weeks post this, ive had over a week of body aches. Literally to the point where bringing in shopping from the car is exhausting me. I wake up with aching muscles in my back and arms.

Can Anxiety do that? Its literally wiping me out. Dont think i have a fever. The ARS fever would be obvious and evident right?

With a complete no risk situation, an undetected RNA PCR at 16 days and numerous IV Gen HIV test that looks for P24 antigen and antibodies - if you can't seem to get this right, then the only possible way out of this is to seek help, see a psychiatrist.

I am not sure what is it that's bothering you in reality, if it's the fear of death, stigma of HIV or guilt of cheating some one or all of them or maybe something absolutely different, whatever it is, it isn't HIV because YOU NEVER HAD A RISK.

You symptoms have no relation to HIV, they check all boxes of being psychosomatic.
