Welcome to the HIV forum. I'll try to help.
It is exceedingly unlikely your partner had HIV, but even if she did, you should not be the least bit concerned at this point. The test results show for sure you didn't catch it; 8 weeks is plenty of time for valid testing; being a day short of 8 weeks makes no difference. The need to wait 3 months is old news, based on older HIV tests; 6-8 weeks is plenty with the texts now in routine use. Your symptoms don't matter and neither does your risk history, because test results always are more valid than exposure or symptoms in judging whether or not someone has HIV. You don't need today's test, and when you get the negative result you can rely on it. It is time to stop having HIV tests and move on with your life.
Perhaps one lesson learned, however: think condoms!

Also I have a headache from this, I am also having hemorrhoid as well. Joint pain is not that bad but noticeable. I feel dizzy at times like I may faint due to my neck feeling swollen.
HIV doesn't cause such symptoms, and even if they did, the test results rule.
That will be all for this thread.
Thanks I did get a negative 80 day test...it was Oraquick were they used the swab. I was told the swab test was only 85% accurate at detecting antibodies..Is this true? I am willing to do a blood test..I'm still having achy joints stiff neck sinus infection nausea and headache..can I be confident with my test?
Yes, the rapid tests have a slight chance of false negative results (relatively new research -- previously believed to be 100% sensitive). So if you're nervous, have a standard lab-based test. Or have another rapid test, by a different manufacturer than the first one. A double negative on rapid tests is believed to be 100% accurate. However, if any of your tests to date were lab-based tests, there is no need for any further testing.
Still, all things considered, it is extremely unlikley you have HIV and you can expect any and all additional tests to also be negative. Try to move on. That's definitely all for this thread. Take care -- and get safe (condoms) in the future.
Thanks yes they were all blood test Elisa. I did the swab test at 11 weeks 3 days. It was at a clinic and they did make sure the temp was standard and it took 20 minutes. So yes I will do the blood test this will be 84 days. Thanks so much for your help and YES I learned my lesson!! Condoms or abstinence..jUst hope I'm negative.
You don't need any additional testing. There's no point; the combination of tests you have had, at the times you had them, makes it 100% certain you don't have HIV.
I take your word..I have been honest about my situation and I do trust your advice. Thank You for this Dr.
