Vacutainer holders can be reused, it's NO risk.  It doesn't go INTO your skin, it only holds the needle and collection tubes in place.

This is an irrational fear.  Health care workers do not reuse needles. It would be VERY hard to draw blood, if not impossible, due to clotting.  Why would a HCW make their job harder?  Plus, they do not reuse needles to protect THEMSELVES.

Let it go.

Ok. But nobody is answering for this,

***************************************************************************
EVEN if the NEEDLE is REUSED, no chance of Infection with
10 mins of gap between last person( assume he had HIV) and me....
As you people say, Virus dies within few miniutes...

Ok thanks. But I have a Small Dark Red Bruise around where she inserted needle. is that because of  She didn't inject properly and vein got damaged that caused blood clot under my Skin, which resulted in a light Bruise

nobody in a health field will re used a needle. But ok let say your worst case scenario do happen. The needle will be blunt and it  will very painful for you, the needle will be clot inside and it will not be possible to draw blood to you, if the needle is re used you will notice the blood is dripping in the tip of the vacutainer needle. Vacutainer system got no capability injecting anything in your vein. If they re used needle and have blood inside the hallow bore of the needle the blood will go to the test tube w/c should be the test will be reactive because of the present of antibody. Hiv Virus expose to the air imidiately not active. ON TOP OF ALL THAT THey dont re used needles.

Thanks. Anyway that, If needle is reused, and after 10 mins or so, injected again, any chance of infection ? or the virus dies immedeately( say within 5 mins)  once exposued to Air...............
