You came here for reassurance. I have tried my best to give it, but all you do is argue. I do not have time for repeated questions from persons who refuse to accept or believe the information I have given. That's all for this thread; I will delete any further comments.
Moreover, my body temperature has always been less than normal temperature, less than 97 all the time which might be possible because of the stress. Because I got this neck pain since 2 weeks and sore throat which started 5 days back and I started feeling better with the sore throat now and no FEVER until now, can that be considered that I have no HIV.
Thanks In Advance,
Thanks Doctor,
This is my last post.
I am trying my best to rest assured but my symptoms make me feel bad and guilt. HIV fear always comes into my mind. I plan to take a rapid HIV antibody test tomorrow which is 30 days after my exposure. How accurate would the 30 day test would be provided I have these symptoms. Would it be possible that my immune system trying to produce antibodies for some other viral infection and the antibody test for HIV would show up false positive. Somewhere I feel I might be the most unluckiest person in the world that I might be the 1 in 1,000,000,000 to get the HIV virus from the kind of exposure.
Thanks In Advance
Antibiotics never help viral infections; antibiotics fight bacteria but have no effect on viruses. Almost everbody recovers from every viral infection and so will you. If your symptoms persist or you are worried, of course go back to the doctor. That person may also be able to advise you about your guilt over visiting the strip club.
However, this website is only for HIV prevention advice, so I can't help you further. The main thing is to stop worrying about your health from the strip club events.
Best wishes and welcome to the US.
Thanks Again for responding.
Do you think I will recover on my own if its some kind of viral infection?
Antibiotics is not helping me at all and doctors are not recommending any testing for anything from the exposure I described. I went to 3 different doctors and ER once to rule out meningitis.
Do you recommend me seeing the doctor again and ask him for more diagnosis?
Help me. I feel guilty of what I have done and Moreover i am a visitor and do not know much about US Medical terms.
Sure, you could have caught something from your partner. If you did, it probably was a garden variety respiratory infection; anybody close enough to have sex (or semi-sex) with someone is plenty close to catch a cold, influenza, etc. And there are some viruses like that which can also cause urinary symptoms, in particular certain kinds of adenovirus. I do not recommend any STD testing at this point. Even if I were wrong and you caught an STD. the antibotics you have had would have cleared it up and prevented the tests from showing anything.
In any case, HIV is not a possible consequence of this sort of exposure, and HIV is the only topic of this forum. And this is not a forum where you may keep updating this thread with follow-up information so you can attempt to prove your point. I will delete any such follow-up comments. That's all for this thread.
Thank you for a quick response Doctor.
I believe I definitely got something from her because several symptoms could not be a coincidence. like sore throat on 25th day, painful urination on the 3rd day of exposure, neck pain and or neck stiffness since 2 weeks. irritating penis, prostatitis etc.
I am definitely gonna update this post with my symptoms and my HIV/ Herpes status later because I was clean before this exposure with no history of sexual intercourse and started getting problems after the exposure.
Well, if I caught anything from her, I would like all of them to know about the risks involved even with the mild exposure which I described and people are more careful about themselves.
Do you recommend further testing for any STD's or blood checkup?
Can I trust a 28 day HIV rapid test and rely on it? If yes, I will get it done tomorrow.
Welcome to the HIV forum.
You cannot catch HIV or herpes from the exposures you describe. The same is true for all STDs, and STDs don't cause prostatitis.
Here is another thread that explains how HIV and other STDs are transmitted (and how they are not transmitted). Please read it, starting with the follow-up comment that begin December 14:
