I was strong to tell my wife yesterday, instead she felt sorry for me.what are my chances / odds of contracting the virus especially that i had a second round with a condom?
Well, unfortunately, you had a risk by having unprotected sex with someone who is positive. This doesn't mean you will definitely become infected. You need to test for HIV and be SURE to consistently wear condoms with your wife until you have a conclusively negative HIV test at 3 months post exposure. She also could be at risk for other STDs, so condoms are a MUST!
You can take a DUO test at 4 weeks post exposure that will ease your mind a little bit, but again, you should take a standard antibody test at 3 months, to be sure you weren't infected.
You also need to be sure you've tested for all other STDs in the proper time frame as well. Your doctor, or a clinic can advise you what to test for, and when.
As for telling your wife, that's totally up to you.
