You cannot get HIV that way. You do not have HIV from this incident.
Than, further to my question. What if the wooden filing pricks someone who is HIV positive and then I get pricked with it.
Hiv dies when exposed to air. You didn't get HIV from this incident.
Will it not remain active outside the body for 2 mins or so. The prick from the filing was quite immediate.
HIV is unable to reproduce outside its living host (unlike many bacteria or fungi, which may do so under suitable conditions), except under laboratory conditions; therefore, it does not spread or maintain infectiousness outside its host.
HIV is transmitted by;
Unprotected penetrative anal and/or vaginal sex
Sharing works with other IV drug users
Mother to child
My thing is that even if it is 2 mins in between the prics. Can the virus remain infectious for 2 mins outside the body. Sorry to repeat the question but I didn't get the answer.
What part of you never had an exposure is it you can't comprehend?
I didn't understand what u said. I know it can't survive outside the body but can't it survive even for 2 mins. It's important for me to know since I work in this place and have prics always.
You were advised in the very first reply that you didn't have an exposure. Enough is enough.
You have been answered, it is not going to change.
Do I need testing, is there any worry at all
