European Study on OraQuick and 4 other rapid HIV test

Hello,

Can you please advise on below study that was conducted on 5 rapid test? The study states that OraQuick had a poor performence on oral fluids and whole blood.

I took sevreal OraQuick Advance oral fluid test at post (81 days), post (90 days) and post (118 days) from exposure. All test were negitve/non-reactive.

Do I need to do follow up with an ELISA HIV 1/O/2 blood test since it seems that OraQuick did not test well on oral fluids as per report?

I look forward to your responce.

You have not followed the request to make only 2 posts in any 6 month period, this being the 3rd you have made in the past month. Further, in your post above, you failed to also mention your PCR which while not definitive adds further assurance to the fact that you did not get HIV from your exposure of concern. Thus, I will provide you with a single answer with no follow-ups.  Further, before I address your specific questions, I will give you a far more important message- you need to stay off the internet and get your anxiety under control. If you cannot, you should seek professional assistance in doing so.

As for your question, this is a relatively small study in a second tier journal conducted in patients who have diagnosed HIV and may be on therapy or have other factors which modify test performance.  Further, you have not been tested a single time but three time AND you have the results of your PCR which while not definitive, are further evidence that you did not get HIV.  As I have said before, your exposure was no risk (i.e. condom protected) and you need to believe your test results. It really doesn't matter which test you use or how many times you test or which test you use, their results are not going to change.  EWH

Correct. My advice is to believe your test results.  EWH

Thank for your comments and time! Other words you are stating that my test results are conclusive and if I want I can be in a condom free monogamous relationship with my current girlfriend without the worry of passing HIV to her?

I guess I cannot shake off this past exposure due to the fact I had sex and open mouth kissing with a positive female and ARS related symptoms with in the proper time frame between the 2nd and 6th week post expose.

I have read another report about OraQuick Advance Rapid test that conflict with the European/French study. The below report states that the OraQuick HIV 1/2 fluid test is very accurate.
