It is a silly question. No change in my assessment.
There will be no further answers. The thread is over. EWH
Sorry doctor but it was my last question
Just a last question for my knowledge doctor I know it sounds silly
If the cut was fresh but small say 15 minuts to 30 minutes old but stopped bleeding and 3 to 4 drops of hiv positive blood comes in contact..is it a risk or still no risk?
These questiosn have really already been answered although perhaps not as directly as you would like. I will repeat the answers.
1) If 3 drops of hiv positive blood comes in contact with 3 hours old small cut is it a risk?
NO.
2) If same amount of hiv positive blood comes in contact with intact skin thwn is it a risk?
NO
3) Do I need testing for my exposure?
NO
4) I hope there is no mucuous membrane on our hand ( I know it is silly but I am just confirming) .
The hand is not a mucous membrane.
I hope this is clearer. EWH
Thanks a lot.
I have a few questions:

Welcome to our Forum. We get many questions of this sort so for additional information you can search the site for answers to similar questions. HIV is transmitted through penetrative vaginal or anal sex or through injection of infected materials deep into tissue. While there is a theoretical possibility that someone might get HIV in other ways such as in touching blood from an HIV infected person or through frottage, the fact is that this does not occur. With respect to touching the blood of an infected person, please remember that HIV is a fragile virus which dies very quickly upon exposure to the environment and that the skin is one of the body's best mechanisms for prevention of infection. While cuts and scrapes may briefly disrupt the protection offered by skin, the protective effect is quickly repaired an while cuts may appear to be "open" in the time shortly after occurring the barriers to infection have been restore.
There is no medical reason for concern or for testing relate to the sorts of exposures you mention. EWH
