Welcome to our Forum. I'll try to help. I must say, I find it quite frustrating when persons who are interested in having sex are unwilling to have a simple HIV test to relieve their partners' concerns. Testing is just not that big a deal.
That said, I suspect your are not at risk. HIV is rather uncommon among heterosexual men in the UK (I believe you are female) and his negative test a year ago makes it unlikely that he was infected. Even if he was, your risk of infection from a single episode of intercourse is less than 1 in 1000 which is rather low. Thus I would estimate that the risk of HIV for you is very, very low.
At two weeks a DUO test would be expected to detect well over half of recently acquired infections and, as I suspect you know, at 4 weeks the results will be definitive. I am confident that your tests will be negative as the numbers predict. I hope my comment are helpful to you. EWH
Great. These result prove you did not get HIV. No need for further testing related to this exposure. EWH
hi i took the hiv duo test on the 19 which makes it 27 days instead of 28 days would the outcome results be the same? the results say i'm negative. thank you for your support
Thanks. I am confident that when we hear from you on the 2oth you will be reporting that your tests are negative. Take care. EWH
