The best thing to do if you want to know your status is to go to a hiv test site Manono. This testing tactic is not benefitting anyone. The Philippines are actually known for it's low rate of hiv.

p.s-i hope this was not the blood donor....

I am sure the leat you need right now is lecturing, but... what in the heaven made you think you could donate (infected?) blood that could pass the virus on to someone else just to wait and see if they called you back?

There is something just not right in your actions pal.

If you need to know your hiv status... GET TESTED.

BTW, the doctors have made several comments on the great quality of Philippines STD clinics... take advantage of them!

I hope there screening standards are up to pare with people like these in the fold-so irresponsible, i hope it's just some type of language barrier situation and not another blood donor type...

No, i don't think your clean-i don't know what your status is. Monono, do you mean to say you were tested at the hospital -or- are you saying you donated blood in order to see if they caught your hiv status as (+/-) in the hopes that they will notify you if you positive?

just saying blood banks are important and they test the blood more than once
and yes i am sure hiv gets through especially during the window period thankfully now a days most show a positive 22 to 34 days out
whats scary is the organs they gave out and those guys got hiv from that dude he was in the window period

Can you imagine if they slip up and someone gets aids like this? I wonder what the room for error is in the Phillipines when it comes to screening blood of donors? The fact that people are doing this in 08' is not very heartening my friend...

yes..exactly...that is what i am trying to do..because i think that is what they will do if i tested +...right? they will notify me..

my exposure is actualy a protected sex with csw...but i am not sure if it didnt break... bec this wat happend to me, there is like a small hole at my glans penis(like an insect bite) and now there is no hole...it is like a blackhead with a little inflamation around it...im not sure if it is a chancre or just an insect bite..what do you think?its not oozing any fluid and it is dry...

this is the reason why i am concernced..bec. if i got syphilis, you know what i mean..the condom broke..

i already posted this question before because of some other concerns and now, i am here again because of this another concern..

i think you should not of given blood like this it was selfish on your part hiv is not a joke but you gave blood after an exposure do you realize if they knew this and you were positive you could be charged not wise at all do like the rest  of us have done wait the 3 months and know your status

but why?isnt that a good indicator? in the questionaire that i answerd, there is a question there about the reason of  you donating blood is because you want to test for hiv, hepa, syphy and others(i forgot the other diseases)...so i think blood bank are also aware of this kind of behaviour..dont you think?

i donated blood at 8wks post expo...i read a lot of forums before donating blood..i waited for 8 wks..because like they said, 2-6 wks i thinks is conclusive for healthy individual (correct me if im wrong)..

i talked to a doctor, and i told him what i did to know my status, well he said they will call me or find me if something is wrong with my blood, and since its been 2wks since i donated blood and nobody is calling, he said i can relax..that is a good indicator..

Only because this is probably the first part of the screening method-they know people like yourself, are misusing the bank for testing purposes. Why not save your energy / my energy / and the rest of the posters and the blood banks energies and get a proper test.
