cunnilingus ...

Hello, im from germany and excuse myself for the poor english...i just arrived to this side by accident and i think i like it as it seems to be very professional...
the problem i have is this :

last week, the night from 6th to 7th january i had unprotected oral sex with a woman... as i thought before it is safe... there was no other activity just licking her ..
know i can read on some pages that it isnt that safe..others say it is...
in my case the women told me that her period has ended the day before and now i think that there might have been some menstrual blood involved, i just couldnt see it, because it was thinned..also i have a bad wisdom-tooth in my mouth with a big hole, but it wasnt inflamed..not from what i felt
i really was licking her half an hour long...my worries came up on the 11th january then, because i had really big lymphnodes..the next day i got really sick with temperature and all the other stuff.. a bad flu... i konw that a flu in this time of the year is not that special, im just worried that its the kind of flu which happens in the first days after hiv exposure..i think i wasnt that sick since 15-20 years...

what do you think how big is the risk for me?

thanks and kind regards

Teak, c'mon. I agree with you that they are in a very miniscule risk to be worthy to take a test. But some people just cannot be convinced to not to do so. This German who wrote above however CAN be convinced. I'm referring to those people who keep on questioning whether they have a risk even though we've reassured them over and over again.

You lack in understanding HIV as well as assements. Just don't advise people to test when they haven't had a risk.

Well we are no health professionals. Of course it's kind of waste of time to tell the worried about their miniscule chance of getting HIV. If they are still not convinced by our assurances, then the only way to make them convinced is through a test. If the test comes out negative and he/she's still worried then he/she may go thru a psychological counsellor.....

Don't suggest testing for non-risk issue it only causes more anxiety waiting on results of test that weren't needed.

I do agree with you, which is why I said 'If there is still worry'

The exact translation is:
"I can (speak) German. Browse through the site, and you would for yourself that oral sex would be ALMOST 100% safe, even when no condom is worn. Your sicknesses that you're suffering from could be caused by other things/diseases or by excessive worry.

If there is still worry, get yourself tested."

After all, like the doctors said, that oral sex does not transmit HIV is not 100% guaranteed, only that the possibility is soooo low that it is virtually risk-free.

You may speak german but your information was incorrect. Oral sex does not transmit HIV condoms or not.

you never had hiv exposure regarding the practise you describe
forget menstrual blood ,,, if it would have been significant you´ll notice

have a good weekend

Well from what I've read on here, HIV related symptoms don't appear till 2-4 weeks after the exposure so what you suffered would be unrelated as it'd only been a few days so theres no way it could be related.

Also from the event you described you weren't really at any risk as Oral Sex is no risk, the saliva within your mouth would have inactivated any HIV infected blood if any. This of course assumes she had HIV which would also be very unlikely.
