follow up questions

Hi doctor,

its now been over a year since my possible exposure and like i stated in the previous questions i have been tested @ exactly 11 weeks with the rapid blood test. i have had a sinus infection since the beginning of may(maybe late april), and it just wont goo away. Ive tried antibiotics, and quite a few over the counter meds. i would not be writing you, but it kinda of worries me that i am not able to kick this infection as i would have in the past. Im 30, and all i can think about is my body may not be able to kick this due to a weakend immune system.  My snot is clear most of the time and my nose is stuffy, no fevers or headaches, just seriously clogged. I am not writing you as a paranoid person, nor am i questioning your previous responses, which were a great help. I am just concerned because i have never had anything like this last for this length of time. So my question would be do i just let this infection take its course, or should start looking at the possiblity of another hiv test?

If you choose to get another HIV test, please realize that it is for your own peace of mind, not because there is any plausible reason for you to be concerned about your prior test results.  HIV tests are highly reliable and the single encounter which initiated your concerns was relatively low risk.  EWH
