onset of HIV symptoms?

All,

I've seen a mixed bag of feedback on when symptoms of HIV appear from the internet...if at all.  Just looking for  good feedback from the experts in the forum.

How often do symptoms appear (50% of the time?)

Is a fever the most common symptom?

When are symptoms most likely to appear?

How long do they last?

Appreciate any feedback on the post.

thx

This site is to educate people who have had a risk...see above.
"If you believe you have been exposed to HIV and want help to judge your risk, would like advice about HIV testing, or have questions about the effectiveness of condoms or risks associated with specific sexual practices, this is the site for you."

But with all the of the questions we get on a daily basis for people who want risk assestment it is tough to take the time out to educate someone for there personal knowledge. I became educated by reading post after post here and in the Expert forum as well as finding other sites that are specific with STD's and HIV. It's not a matter of metting standards it a matter of time.

I was judgemental because your questions have been all over the place and not one specific things so that raises a falg with me and with others. I suggest that you read the posts in the Expert forum, and if you have questions fel free to send me a PM. But if you have a real risk then post it here.

As for your symptom question...we don't like to talk about symptoms because there is never a hard and fast number on how many people will get symptoms and because most people who think they have symptoms never even had a risk. So talking about symptoms often fuels anxiety.

Symptoms aren't a benefit period. HIV has no specific symptoms.

My apologies if I've inconvenienced you.  I'm just trying get information on this topic from people that are far more educated than myself. In the past I've found MOST responders to be exceptional and not judgemental or dismissive and I'm fairly confident that will remain to be the case.

I feel that my questions on anal sex and cord blood (risk to baby) are worthy of this board despite your notation.  Frankly, it's my error for asking a question on symptoms.  I guess I should have navigated this site a bit better but it is quite common, from what I've seen, to get sympton related questions on this forum.

If my posts don't meet your standards then please don't respond to them.  In the interim I'll learn the site a bit better.

Best wishes

What are you doing? You have asked about anal sex transmission then about corn testing.

We don't discuss symptoms here, this is a risk assestment forum.
