heterophile antibodies...Mike, anyone HELP!

I have done extensive Internet research on ARS and Mono. It seems the symptoms of ARS are identical to those seen in Mono.

I had a positive heterophile antibodies test done last Friday and the physicians assistant called and told me I have mono.

Here is why I am worried. Are heterophile antibodies found in ARS? What is a heterophile antibody?

I am also worried because the physician's assistant acts kind of confused all the time like she doesnt know what is going on. Are they just assumming i have Mono because of my symptoms and the positive heterophile antibodies test? Or do you think there is the chance it is really ARS?

Furthermore, I have about 20 white pustules on each tonsil. Would this be seen in ARS?

Internet research will only make you more scared and confused, don't do it.
Take your test and move on.

So call me a Worried Well.

I am worried as heck and have every right to be. My partner tricked me and took off the condom without telling me after I told him he needed to use a condom. I dont know his HIV status and he wont get tested. I found out he took it off on 3 occassions.

Now I have mono.

So yes, I am worried. I dont mean to offend anyone but I am under severe stress right now.

I suggest you conclude your extensive internet research ASAP as it will not do you any good.
WW discussions on heterophile antibodies, Langerhans cells and subtypes are a bad sign.
