I was at 7-Eleven earlier today when I decided to get a Cherry Slurpee. When I turned the lever to pour, I noticed almost immediately afterwards that the side of my index finger made contact with a light, sticky red substance. I assumed it was some cherry slurpee but when I instinctively licked it, it tasted salty (a lot like blood). I checked my finger and saw no cuts whatsoever, so it wasn't mine. In the process of licking the blood, I'm sure I swallowed or ingested a tiny pinch of it.
As a precaution, I discarded my straw. I also spat out at every opportunity possible, rinsed my mouth/tongue with Listerine and even rubbed a little soap on the tip of my tongue (where it made contact).
Needless to say, I'm incredibly worried. Is there ANY chance of infection/disease/etc whatsoever? Any and all detailed responses would be greatly appreciated.
