kids and hiv

hello people, i have very special and maybe stupid question. today when i was coming back home with my little son, there was a blood on the doorknob of the appartmenthouse we live in. we both touched it and i realized too late. my son is quite small, year old, only started to walk short time ago, and has small scratches everywhere,... is it possible to contract hiv this way? (touch the blood and then the cut, put hand in the mouth, in the eye,... he keeps doing this all the time). i dont know if there is any difference if this is in the case of small kid. i also has cut on my finger, not too big, but.. anyway. i am stressed about it. the blood was fresh, several drops of it on the doorknob and door. thank you all very much.

I have read on multiple websites and have been told from HIV counselors that the virus cannot live long outside the body at all. The HIV counselor told me depending on the viral load the average amount of time is like 7-9 seconds. Do not quote me on this for I am not 100% but I have an HIV scare and have done so much research. I have read that HIV cannot survive when it hits oxygen so I think you will be fine. Good luck!
