What does that have to do with your lancet stick concern?
A lancet and a hypodermic needle aren't the same.
my fiancee had a needle prick while injecting a sick patient who is HIV positive afterall. she was adviced to go for PEP she religiously did.
She had done a test after 4 months which comes negative. I am still nervous about this. what do i do?
what is her chances of her being hiv positive.
Nurses use lancets that are disposable and unable to be used more than once. Also, may I ask how you know the person before you was "very high risk"? You can't know a person's status by looking at them.
You have nothing to worry about. HIV cannot be transmitted through a lancet, even if it was used on an HIV + person directly before you. A lancet does not create a significant enough opening in the skin to allow for transmission, and there would never be enough blood on a lancet to cause a risk, not to mention HIV quickly starts becoming inactive when exposed to the elements.
You don't have an HIV concern.
