needle risk of HIV

Hi Everyone, my husband just had a blood drawn at home to test for life insurance. and after the lady poked him, we realized the needle just had a cap on it, but did not come out of the sealed package. We questioned her, she just said it was new... but that lady was kind of wierd, and rude, so now we are worried, if the needle was re-used..

Sorry for being paranoid, but we really wanna know if he is at risk of HIV infection if indeed it is not a new needle.
Thanks so much....

There are alot of nurses that behave that way,I wouldn't worry about it.The nurse that took blood from me took 12 attempts before she got it right,I would have done a better job myself. If you lived in Africa there might be a risk with reused syringes but not where you live.

They don't reuse syringes and you would have noticed if it was a reused syringe, there would have been blood inside it.
