Need confirmation on test

Possible Exposure: Feb 20 2007

I'm a straight male that had protected vaginal sex and unprotected oral from a close straight female friend, presumed HIV free. On April 2, 2007, I went in for my yearly check up and I had all blood work done and took an HIV ELISA/EIA test through LABCORP for the heck of it. All test good! I started then to think of my last exposure to HIV and started to freak out. Doctor said I have nothing to worry about if the exposure was at least 6 weeks ago.

I tested twice to be on the safe side! I know its over kill, but I need reassurance for the best group online.

Test dates.
ELISA/EIA - Tested April 2 - (7 week test).Results:non reactive.

Rapid orsaure advance(blood) - Tested April 10 - (8 week test) results: negative

I guess I was alarmed becuase I was on this site rerading and it got the best of me mentally and confused me.

Have a safe day all.

I thoughty nothing of it

its alright to be nervous or anxious about such potentially life altering disease.
been there done that. now that you have your negative for an ultralow risk. you should move on.  im not mentioning a 3 month confirmation due to already low risk, plus the girl is a friend of yours "hiv free".   your safe, stay safe remember protection is key.

You said: "I started then to think of my last exposure to HIV..."

Let me point something out here: you did not have an exposure to HIV. You had protected sex. Performing or receiving oral sex on a female is not a risk factor for HIV, nor is protected sex. So, even if the woman in question had HIV, you didn't get it from her. Your latest test is sufficient to show that you are HIV negative, and, in fact, you didn't need to test at all.

In short, you did not contract HIV from the encounter that you described, and you need no further tests.
