neuropathy

I have just recently been told by an m.d that I have neuropathy. This causes burning, numbness, stabbing pains, and also tingling to the feet. The worst time is in the night. I am scheduled to see a neurologist seeing how the m.d. ran blood tests for anything to his knowledge that could be causing this including diabetes. It is very confusing I am only 34 and this suddenly struck. Does anybody have any knowledge on this subject? What helps besides drugs I wont become a pill popper unless absolutely necessary.

Hi,Sreve,I'm hiv from 1999 and I've had some neuropathy prob.years ago,in  Italy.I went to the neurologist and I'd the elettric examination(I don't know the right name).I'd prob to walk, burn and pain, difficlty to  long walks. The strange fact was that when I've moved in England  all that disappear.Sometimes I have some pain just if I walk for long and quickly.I don't know if are some medicament that help and I don't know if anxiety can be a cause.Talk you doct ,see you result and if you have to take some med.for that ,do it.You're only 34 and walk is very important matter.let me know.be strong....ziffy1

PN in HIV normally comes in the later stages and is a more common effect of the meds than of HIV itself.

Anxiety can cause the symptoms you are complaining of as well as a host of other things (not HIV).

Work with your doctor to figure it out, its not HIV
