Anxiety/who knows need your help

Hello Doctor
About 8 weeks ago I made prolly one of the worst decisions of my life.  I decided to get involved with a CSW.  It was protected oral and vaginal sex and honstly i didnt investigate the condom but im pretty sure it didnt break.  So after that i began to go through some serious worry over my situation.  I did wha your not supposed to do and i looke up symptoms and then started looking for them.  At about 2 weeks I experienced diharea but that subsided into soft stool with ocaisonly hard.  I have had this now for aout 6 weeks.  I am also expericing on and off muscle aches for about 4 weeks starting at about month since incident.  I mustard up the courage to get a DNA PCR test at 26 days and that came back negative, I just cant seem to move on.  Now at 8 weeks I see that my tounge is kind of white and now its just driving me crazy.  I don't know what to do or who to talk to over this.  I have been on the community forum and been told numerous times to stop worrying, I have called std clinics told my story and was told to move on.  Doctor I dont know what to do.

I don't want to come off like im going through a mental break down becasue i am living my life to the best i can, when im active and my mind is off what happened I don't get the aches or anything.

Do suggest testing again

Is the PCR conclusive to your assessment

Please help

Dr hook I appreciate it.

one last comment.  how about my muscle aches that seem to be on and off, they have been here for about 4-5 weeks maybe longer and that is kind of the main reason I can't shake these anxiety thoughts.

Welcome to our Forum.  Your situation, like that of many of our clients represents a great example of the power of the internet not only to inform but also to mislead.  While there is much useful information available on the internet, much of it is also taken out of context or a bit unbalanced and some of it is just plain wrong.  In your case, you really have nothing to worry about.  condom protected intercourse is safe sex and thus, even in the unlikely circumstance that your partner had HIV or some other STD, you would not be at risk.  Furthermore, had your condom failed (broken) you would know it- condoms do not leak "a little", when they fail, they break wide open.  Your negative PCR test at 26 days is strong confirmation of what I have just said.  While I see no reason to do so, if you want to be 100% sure that you do not have HIV, you could get an HIV antibody test at this time- it will be negative, of this I am confident give the no risk nature of your reported activities.

So, what about your symptoms?  Loose stools, changes in salivation and the perception that the color of your tongue may have changed are all far more likely to be manifestations of anxiety than anything else. They are non-specific and by no means should be considered suggestive or indicative of HIV.

I hope these comments are helpful to you.  EWH
