paranoidsince HIV Testing

Hello Dcotors,

I may sound stupid. but this is my situation. I am from India.
I recently got tested Negative (HIV SPOT Test). The place where i tested is HIV Treatment center, where lots of HIV Positive people too get tested for CD4, Viral load etc.. The problem is before taking blood, the technician of Lab, applied / rubbed Spirit(alcohol) on my hand to clean the area. Now I am worrying that, if that Spirit was contaminated with virus (at worst case). Means, while taking blood from HIV Positive people, by accidentally the blood cotton of them has got interaction with Spirit and it stayed on the Spirit. So any Chance that, HIV survives for long time in Spirit(alcohol). so it is applied on me, before taking blood. so when Injecting the syringe, any chance it entered to my blood stream.

Please  HELP

I would like to hear from teak.
As he has Best knowledge about these stuffs. Why I am over reacting is that, if that Spirit had high volume of virus in that. Since Spirit was used to rub / clean the area on my hand before taking blood from me.

That's the best thing you can do is just forget about this incident and move on with your life, once outside the body HIV becomes damaged and unable to infect you. You're safe.

If blood was there in Spirit, then that will become host ??

Okay. "its host" means, blood itself host right?

Reread the replies that you have been given. HIV is unable to reproduce outside its living host (unlike many bacteria or fungi, which may do so under suitable conditions), except under laboratory conditions; therefore, it does not spread or maintain infectiousness outside its host.

Thanks teak. one last question is that, even though the Spirit had Virus, while injecting the syringe, any chance it would have entered into my body. I will stop by here. again thanks.

Thanks Teak for your quick response.
That was HIV Treatment Laboratory.. I would like to know if HIV survives in Spirit(alcohol). I saw, they were using new Syringe only. so no problem with that.
