I have read your interchanges on the HIV Prevention Community site and like Teak, I see no reason for concern. The quoted figure for HIV risk, if one has oral sex with an infected partner is less than 1 in 10,000 and, in my estimation that is too high. Some experts state there is no risk at all from oral sex. Neither of us on this site have ever seen or reading the medical literature of a convincing instance in which HIV was passed by oral sex. the condition of her mouth makes no difference to your risk.
The recommended test for HIV testing is an HIV antibody test (often this is called an ELISA test). It is highly accurate. If you cannot believe what you have been told on this and other sites, I recommend you have an HIV antibody test however, I would recommend that first you promise yourself that you will believe the test result when you get it.

An ELISA test for HIV antiboies at 4 weeks (28 days) will detect over 90% of infections acuire 4 weeks earlier. Since you really are not at risk to start with, the negative test result you woul get at that time would confirm that did not get HIV, just as the term "no risk exposure" suggests.
There are no data on the utility of PCR tests for ruling out HIV. The test you mention is quite sensitive, thus a negative test would also be strong evidence that you did not get HIV. EWH
Please if you can just give me some advice on this question, I just ordered to have on test next weak exactly 29 days after exposure. The test that I'm going to have is: HIV-1 DNA by PCR With HIV Antibodies by ICMA. at LABCORP
I know that you are tired of our anxiety and question, but please, please if you can just tell me what is your opinion about this test at 29 days after exposure?
Thank you very much
Thank you Doc. After how many days I should have this test

This will help me a lot to finish my last task Thesis on my Master because I coudnt work nothing in last month and deadline is comming in 2 weaks.
Thank you once more. You are doing great Job
Thank you very very much for you support, I will do my best to move on. Thank you and God bless You
You need to understand that the testing that you have done just serves to prove that your low risk exposure DID NOT result in HIV infection. More testing with tests of any sort will make no difference. You did not get HIV. This will end this thread. EWH
Vance please do you know if there is HIV DUO test available in US (Labcorp) if yes which one is this test because I cudn't find it
thanks
Thank you Vance2335, You are doing great job, but I want to be sure and not make any other mistake by putting my wife in danger. This is the most difficult part for me. and please can you tell me what is your personal opinion about this test and accuracy at 29 days
thanks
Just to interject...re-read everything Dr.Hook has said, you will find answers to your questions in his previous comments.
Dear Doc. I just recived, result of PCR DNA test which was done exactly 29 days post exposure. The result is negative NONREACTIVE, how reliable is this result? and what is your advice do I need to get tested again? or move on and continue my normal live with my wife.

Thank you doctor, I just wanted to take more sophisticated test because my wife will join me in one week, and I'm affraid that I may infect her.
Thank you very much for you replay
Dr. Please, just one clarification.
Is ELISA test appropriate to take it at 28 days post exposure or should I take any other test.
Thank you
