pep efficacy and testing

I have a couple of questions about pep and testing. I had a high risk MSM encounter  I was the receptive partner and the condom came off. The partner who was anonymous, later found out a csw as well,  claimed that they "should" be negative but hadn't tested lately.  I was prescribed PEP (truvada, tivicay) initiated 25 hours post exposure on the reccomendation of the hiv infectious disease counselor in my area.
Question 1:   how effective has pep shown to be, most data I can find appears to be around 5 years old...is any more known about the general amount of risk redu tion provided by PEP in non-occupational setting?

2.  I have received conflicting data from different sources on whether or not PEP would delay the window period for testing with a fourth generation duo test. My counselor says it will not as well as the aac of Massachusetts. This is in juxtaposition to literature that I have found on the internet. Does PEP delay window period or is a 3 month post exposure test accurate with advances in modern 4th gen tests?

Thank you and I do appreciate any feedback.
