pharyngitis after sexual encounter

I engaged in intercourse with a female(co-worker) when my condom broke and I didn't realize until possibly 3-4 minutes later.  She also performed unprotected oral sex on me for about 2 minutes. 4-5 nights later, I had night sweats, fever, and i was diagnosed by my doctor with pharyngitis. My doctor said it sometimes is a result of oral sex but I have read that it's an early sign of hiv.  I can't get that fact out of my head. I am going to get tested in 3 months but should I be worried like I have been for the past 3 days?? Thanks.

Hi there,

Your brief exposure due to condom failure would have put you at a low risk in term of HIV infection (if the lady is HIV +ve to start with).

Your sore throat is not HIV (ARS) specific and a little to early.

The unprotected oral sex did not put you at risk of HIV, but other STI can be transmitted.

Cheers!

Is that too quick to be something like HIV?? I'm still going to get tested just in case.

why dont you just ask your coworker her hiv status and when was the last time she was tested, if she is the only risk of possible exposure maybe you guys can get tested together
