It doesn't matter. The more recent tests ("third generation" etc) detect more infections in the first 2-3 weeks. After 6 weeks or more, it doesn't matter; by that time the first and second generation antibody tests pick up just as many infections as third.
That is the end of this thread. Suck it up and move on. I will have no further comments.
Welcome to the forum.
You are overreacting and have been overtested. First, although HIV is not rare in parts of China, it remains rare in most of the country, including in most sex workers. Second, a single episode of unprotected heterosexual sex is always unlikely to result in HIV transmission; on average, if a woman has HIV, the virus is transmitted only once for every 2,000 episodes of vaginal sex. But most important, your test results prove you did not catch HIV. All tests done later than 6 weeks after your exposure were superfluous and a waste of money.
1) Those test result are completely reliable.
2) These are standard, highly accurate HIV antibody tests; and Quest is a highly respected, high quality laboratory.
3) You can be 100% confident you do not have HIV.

the last question, which generation are Quest they using?3th gen or 4th or anothers?
thank you :)
My guess is the local lab doesn't run the test until several specimens are available to be tested together. It's more efficient and cost effective for labs to test several specimens at once. Quest is a large operation and undoubtedly receives many blood specimens (maybe hundreds) every day.
Thank you so much doctor
by the way, Why the Quest Diagnostics Nichols they do the Next Day Results? That laboratory is far away from San Francisco. But that SPECIALITY LAB is near by, they still need 2 or 3 days.
thank you:)
