hello doctor:
here is my case: I scraped off a lay of my skin by the corner of the furniture. It was really BLEEDING at that time, and i peeled off the top layer of the skin. And my wife put on a bandage for me. 18 hours later, i went out to work, was riding the subway in the morning, and came back by client's ride. What worries me is on the subway, it was really crowded, i m worried about my *wound* (if it counts as a wound) still counts as a fresh open wound, that can be infected by infectious fluid. is it deep enough to reach my blood stream? or 18 hours of healing is good enough to block the virus.
and from the information i ve found online, i ve seen two answers relating to my case. since i m worried about the wound to wound contact.
1.once hiv leaves a host and exposed to air, it will be instantly inactivated.due to enviormental elements.
(so does blood counts or other infectious fluid, once it leaves its host)
2.hiv can survive if remains in fluid such as sperm or blood(etc), for at least hours maybe days if kept at the right temp.
mostly i m worried about if someone else has the same small cut and some blood got onto my hand wound (but to my recollection, i didn't see any, i think i should of notice if there was any.. or it doesn't need the amount which i didn't feel nor see.
i m about to have a baby right, and i m being sent to Beijing atm, by my company. I have no one trustable to ask this question, and i m in deep fear, since me and my wife is trying to have a baby very soon.
i took a rapid test by 23 days, and i m about to take one (rapid test)tomorrow, which will be the 31st day . If it turns out to be negative, can i move on and forget about hiv?
or i don't really need to take a test at all ?
thank you very much and deeply from my heart in advance.
sincerely
a newly married man with little guts.
